Hi — quick update from me, the creator of ESEER 3D Live Wallpapers. I've been head-down nailing the Android app, crushing unsightly edge cases, and putting together a quick promo to show what the project looks like in action. Thanks if you've been following along — otherwise, welcome aboard. This is a small release but it's a good sensation.

Take a look at the promo (app + editor quick tour):  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmmxI4dt9vM
I also set up our Product Hunt page: https://www.producthunt.com/products/eseer-3d-live-wallpapers-creator

TL;DR — what changed

Two releases since the last post ( Android app updates ):

ESEER 3D Live Wallpapers - Added artist & Creator badge

1.0.14

  • Fixed memory leaks when scrolling through wallpapers / opening previews

  • Less wallpaper stutters when switching from the app → homescreen

  • Added a visible CUSTOM badge + Creator name badge for user wallpapers

  • Resized "DELETE" and "CLOSE" buttons so they won't overlap on small screens

  • Improved caching logic (safer reuse of bitmaps)

  • Fixed scene background color not showing in the gallery

1.0.1

  • Added Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting

  • Updated settings page links

  • Added lazy loading for wallpapers (download on demand)

Why these changes were necessary

This release was all about quality of life and stability. A lot of users were running into OOMs or blank/black frames on transitions — that's a terrible experience for a visual app. I dug into bitmap caching and renderer lifecycle edge cases so previews are more snappy and live wallpaper handoff is more smooth. Creator/custom wallpapers are also finally getting the small UI love they deserve in the gallery (badges + buttons).

Including Crashlytics makes it possible for me to view real crashes (no PII) and iterate faster. Lazy loading conserves bandwidth and is useful for those on metered connections.

Promo + Product Hunt

I recorded a brief promo featuring the app and the editor side by side — that video helps explain the workflow: create on Windows → export → use on Android. If you like what you see, a small upvote / comment on Product Hunt helps a lot for discoverability. Thanks in advance: https://www.producthunt.com/products/eseer-3d-live-wallpapers-creator

Community

I made a subreddit for ESEER — drop by, share your work, ask questions, or propose wallpapers: https://www.reddit.com/r/eseer/

What’s next

Brief roadmap — simple and honest:

  • New wallpapers — more styles (synthwave / retro / minimal / animals / anime vibes) — I'll drip them in over time.

  • Battery & stability work — still on the plate. I'd like to squeeze more performance and eliminate sporadic renderer freezes.

  • Polish entry animations so they look the same on all devices.

  • Improve editor limits and small UX bits (FOV slider, export checks).

If any of the above needs are your concern (battery, specific type of wallpaper, or editor functionality), drop me a line — I actually read the feedback.
